Vera Neubauer

Czech-born but UK-based filmmaker Vera Neubauer's work is highly diverse yet consistently challenging. From her early radical experiments in narrative structure, and innovative techniques — combining animation with live-action, collage, cut-outs and knitted films — her films have sometimes provoked extreme reactions. Her critique of the way ideology, myth, fairytales, history and politics inflect the narratives we use to mediate lived experience combines relentless curiosity, sometimes startling imagination, and provocative humor.

Alexander Balanescu

One of the most visionary and exciting violinists of our time as well as a prolific composer. With a repertoire centred in contemporary and new music he is always looking to the future.

Sound design:

Phil Mulloy

Worked as a writer and director of live-action films until the late 1980s before becoming an animator. His animations have been described as "satirical grotesque" and often portray the dark side of human nature and contemporary social, political, and religious values in a humorous and at times, shocking way.

Alejandra Jimenez

Originally trained as an architect, Alejandra's love for photography led her to major in digital animation within the Contemporary Media Practice BA at Westminster University. In 2003 she finished the 'Special Effects for Film and Television' short course at the National Film and Television School.

A New York based screenwriter and film director. She has been nominated for the Student Academy Award. In 2010 Mulloy was awarded the Tribeca Film Festival Emerging Narrative Talent Award and in 2012 was awarded the Tribeca Film Festival Best Director Award.
